CTBL Bulletins
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Please see below the latest CTBL Weekly update.

Via Conakry

OTAL can offer a quick service to Bamako via Conakry as an alternative to Dakar.

Via Dakar

OTAL offers competitive rates on our rail service. The rail option has improved this year and currently there are less delays.

As an alternative OTAL offer a 'road' option which may be utilised for heavy 20fts until the situation returns to normal. Bills of Lading should be marked as 'Road Transport' Road transport is still available as are our other routing options to Bamako via Lomé, Tema, Cotonou and Conakry. Transit to Kayes is running smoothly.

Via Abidjan

Mali: OTAL offers an inland service to Bamako via Abidjan by road as an alternative to our existing service via Dakar. Total transit time including port clearance is 9 days.

Burkina Faso: OTAL offers CTBL connections by rail to Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso. Our rail link through to Burkina Faso is now running well. Dry cargo only, no hazardous. Please send French documents only.

Via Tema

Our CTBL road service remains competitive and is running efficiently to Burkina Faso and Mali.
We have suspended our CTBL service between Tema and inland destinations of Ghana (Accra, Kumasi) due to clearing problems in Tema. We remind you that it is compulsory to provide copies of invoices in English, to ensure better transit of cargoes.

Via Lomé

We are pleased to advise that our tariff via Lome has been revised to reflect a decrease in the inland haulage rates. Our service to Burkina and Mali remains of a very high standard and very competitive. We can offer a complete follow up on the latest container situation on all bookings.

Via Cotonou

Please note the Benin authorities have implemented a ‘Taxe de Voirie’, applicable from 21/02/08. This tax, which had been cancelled in 2005, amounts to 0.85% of the CIF value and concerns cargoes in transit for hinterland countries. It comes in addition to the road guarantee fund of 0.25%. This tax will be added to our CTBL tariff from 01/03/08 [Bill of Lading date]. Containers already unloaded in Cotonou or still onboard will be treated locally by our agents in Niger or Burkina in order to collect the tax before leaving Cotonou.

We have also updated our rates to include a Benin Escort Customs charge that has been implemented to apply to Used Cars in containers that are destined for inland countries via Cotonou.

Via Douala
Our CTBL road & rail service remains competitive and is running efficiently.

CAR: OTAL can offer a quick reliable service to Bangui

Chad: Please note that we have resumed our CTBL service to N'djamena with immediate effect following instability last month.

Please Note, GUC (Guichet Unique Centre Afrique) in Douala requires now original documents BL, Commercial Invoices to release files in transit to CAR.
