Minister Delegated by the Prime Minister
Burkina Faso introduces 'Bordereau
de Suivi de Cargaisons' - September 2001
Further to new regulations, please note that for the release of the
goods in Burkina Faso (through any port: Lome, Abidjan and Tema), the
presentation of a BSC (Bordereau de Suivi de Cargaison) This is a cargo
tracking note which is issued by the Conseil Burkinabe Des Chargeurs
representative at the ports of loading) is required, which must be
supplied by the shipper prior to the vessel's arrival at the port of
discharge.
We advise the shippers to send them along with the original bills
of lading normally sent to their consignees. Failure to comply will
force the shipper to obtain and pay for the issuance of post-shipment
BSC, delaying release of cargo (fines will apply at destination).
Kindly note BSC replaces the ARC (Attestation de Reservation
de Cale) which is not applicable.
Similar regulations already exist
in Togo, Niger and
Benin.
