1,000 new containers added to fleet at OTAL's disposal (30/0502)

The Bolloré Group, owners of the specialist West African shipping line OT Africa Line (OTAL), has added 1,000 brand new containers to the pool of units at OTAL's disposal. Made in China, from high tensile corten steel, the new containers, all 20ft dryvan units, are suitable for most cargo types.

The containers have a cubic capacity of 33.2m3 and a maximum gross weight of 30480 kg / 30.48 tonnes giving customers a maximum payload of 28140 kg / 28.14 tonnes. Designed to be exceptionally user friendly, especially to those transporting food stuffs, the containers' floorboards have been treated with a special coating that prevents odours from being absorbed.

Having first been primed with rich zinc paint, the new boxes have been painted blue and are clearly marked with the OTAL logo and website address.

OTAL provides a range of Bureau Veritas quality accredited, ISO standard container and cargo handling units. The line has a mixed container fleet of over 130,000 TEU at its disposal and is able to cater for food grade, reefer, ventilated, hazardous, high cube and standard shipping requirements.
