Hazardous Cargo
The Port Authority of Dakar have revised
their procedures regarding hazardous cargo.
For classes 8 and 9 for Dakar destination, it is no longer necessary
to request authorisation before loading.
Containers in transit to inland destinations still require authorisation.
Containers for class 1 + 7 still require pre-authorisation.
Prohibited Imports
a) Drugs and narcotics
b) Weapons and war ammunition,
except collector's items
c) Pornographic publications
d) Hallucinogen products, except those
authorized by the Ministry of Health
Restricted Imports
a) Fertilizers
b) Costume jewelry’s
c) Pre-recorded tapes
d) Second hand vehicles:
Cars older than 5 years,
Trucks and lorries (less than 3,5 tons gross)
older than 5 years,
Trucks and lorries (above 3,5 tons gross) older
than 10 years,
Buses and mini buses carrying at least 7 people,
and older than 8 years,
