REPUBLIC OF GHANA- PROVISION OF IMPORT CONTAINER LIST TO GATEWAY SERVICES
LTD (GSL)
" As you may be aware, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is
in the process of making it mandatory for importers to request exporters/suppliers
overseas to ensure that the serial numbers of Import Declaration Forms
(IDFs) are captured on bills of lading."
"The main objective of this new requirement is to enable Ghana
Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) stack containers according to level
of risk, and thereby minimise the movement of containers within the
ports and also to and from the containers terminals."
OTAL comments: Please ensure that the IDF number appears on the Bill
of Lading.
